KANSAS CITY, Kans. – June 2010 – Rush Tracking Systems (www.rushtrackingsystems.com), a leading provider of advanced tracking solutions, software and services for manufacturing and warehouse operations, partnering with Digilogics (http://www.digilogics.com.mx), will feature a live demonstration of its innovative VisiblEdge solution for automating lift truck operations at Exopologistica 2010, (July 7-9, Mexico City, Mx).
Rush Tracking's VisiblEdge combines several elements to complete the solution: RFID; an optical positioning system from Sky-Trax using laser height sensors; and software. It gives you a window into a different approach for designing more flexible space.
Rush Tracking Systems' VisiblEdge software provides real-time visibility of lift truck status and location, including the direction of travel. The solution uses data-collection devices, load sensors, and optical position readers to determine the vehicle's location and follow its movements without bar-code scanning.
Rush Tracking demonstrated VisiblEdge, a product offering that enables automated lift truck operations. This complements their expert business process reengineering and business case development work, demonstrating a clear understanding that end-users want repeatable configurable solutions that revolutionize existing processes.

Rush Tracking Systems will showcase a live demonstration of its innovative VisiblEdge solution for automating lift truck operations in Booth #100 at RFID Journal LIVE 2010 (Apr. 14-16, Orlando, FL).
The best way to achieve warehouse efficiencies is to improve visibility within the warehouse. Accurate and automated RFID-enabled pallet tracking can deliver many warehouse benefits, including the ability to error-proof shipping, receiving and put-away, as well as improve labor productivity and customer satisfaction.
When a lift-truck operator moves something, they typically have to do at least three manual points of data entry, either by bar-code scan or keyboard. Rush Tracking Systems claims that an RFID enabled lift-truck can perform the same move operation without any human intervention.

If you want to know whether a technology has a future, it’s always wise to follow the money. When private equity buys into something, it’s considered a vote of confidence. Last week forklift-mounted radio frequency identification (RFID) received that nod when Pharos Capital Group, LLC of Nashville and Dallas acquired Rush Tracking Systems, an RFID business process consulting and systems integration company.
Toby Rush didn't think his company would be a fit for private equity even after an early summer cold call from Pharos Capital Group. But after some persistent follow-up calls and explanation of Pharos's growth equity model, Rush found himself selling his business, Rush Tracking Systems, to the firm. Rush sold so that Pharos' capital could be used to fund growth and investment in the business.
Pharos Capital Group and Rush Tracking Systems today announced Pharos’ acquisition of Rush Tracking Systems and investment of strategic capital in the company. Acquisition underscores confidence in RFID industry leader’s management team, world-class business consulting services, innovative VisiblEdge RFID lift truck solution, and growth potential of the RFID industry.
Rush Tracking Systems, an RFID systems integrator and solutions provider based in Lenexa, Kan., has been acquired by Pharos Capital Group, an investment firm with offices in Nashville, Tenn., and Dallas, Texas. The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, though both companies indicate Rush Tracking Systems will continue operating independently, and that it will receive an infusion of new capital.
Rush Tracking Systems played into the growing interest in RFID by consulting with companies across a broad array of industries. Eventually Rush turned to a specific niche — warehousing and logistics — and today sells a tracking system that allows a forklift to pinpoint a specific pallet in a warehouse.
Rush Tracking Systems has sold for an undisclosed amount to private equity firm Pharos Capital Group LLC, which also is investing strategic capital. That means a deep-pocketed owner and accelerated growth potential but few other changes for Lenexa-based Rush Tracking, which will keep its headquarters, management and staff, the companies said. Rush helps businesses integrate and make the most of radio-frequency identification tracking technologies. Its VisiblEdge product, for example, helps forklifts find loads in warehouses to within a few inches.

In making the case for RFID's role in managing information, Toby Rush, president of Rush Tracking Systems, said we all have broken systems, and rather than fix whatís broken, especially during times of lean resources, we tend to just learn to cope. We build work-arounds. Unfortunately, the contractors we hire for certain projects have to build work arounds around our work arounds.

Process automation -- not RFID or other technology performance or price -- is the key to systems that provide strong ROI, in Rush Tracking's view.
