11/24/2009—If you want to know whether a technology has a future, it’s always wise to follow the money. When private equity buys into something, it’s considered a vote of confidence. Last week forklift-mounted radio frequency identification (RFID) received that nod when Pharos Capital Group, LLC of Nashville and Dallas acquired Rush Tracking Systems, an RFID business process consulting and systems integration company.
11/17/2009—Toby Rush didn't think his company would be a fit for private equity even after an early summer cold call from Pharos Capital Group. But after some persistent follow-up calls and explanation of Pharos's growth equity model, Rush found himself selling his business, Rush Tracking Systems, to the firm. Rush sold so that Pharos' capital could be used to fund growth and investment in the business.

11/16/2009—Rush Tracking Systems, an RFID systems integrator and solutions provider based in Lenexa, Kan., has been acquired by Pharos Capital Group, an investment firm with offices in Nashville, Tenn., and Dallas, Texas. The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, though both companies indicate Rush Tracking Systems will continue operating independently, and that it will receive an infusion of new capital.
11/16/2009—Rush Tracking Systems has sold for an undisclosed amount to private equity firm Pharos Capital Group LLC, which also is investing strategic capital. That means a deep-pocketed owner and accelerated growth potential but few other changes for Lenexa-based Rush Tracking, which will keep its headquarters, management and staff, the companies said. Rush helps businesses integrate and make the most of radio-frequency identification tracking technologies. Its VisiblEdge product, for example, helps forklifts find loads in warehouses to within a few inches.
